EKC Last Chance Recap

Thirty-Four Hammerheads competed in the EKC Last Chance meet in Lenexa July 9 & 10. There were 120 best times, 13 new District cuts, 10 new Champs-Bonus cuts, 10 new Champs cuts and 3 new Sectionals-Bonus cuts.

-Avery Ball swam in her first meet as a Hammerhead

-Alex Briggs earned himself 2 new Sectionals-Bonus times in 50 Free and 100 Free and a Champs time in the 100 Free

-Zelik Carpenter swam in his first meet as a Hammerhead

-Isabelle Collop dropped over 12 seconds in her 200 Free and earned a Champs-Bonus in her 100 Breast

-Alex Foot dropped over 9 seconds in his 100 Fly to earn a Districts cut

-Justin Hendricks dropped over 12 seconds to score a Districts cut in his 100 Breast and after a 9 second shave, he earned a Districts cut in the 200 Breast

-Henry Johnson is the proud new owner of a Districts time in the 50 Free. He also shaved 18 seconds in his 200 Back

-David Keightley shaved over 24 seconds to earn a Champs-Bonus in the 200 Back and over 16 seconds in the 200 IM to earn a Districts time in the 200 IM. He also earned a Districts time in his 100 Fly and a Champs-Bonus in the 400 Free

-Jake Kobs now has a Districts time in the 100 Breast

-Piper Kobs was victorious in the 50 Fly, 400 Free, 200 Free and 100 Free

-Zach Mendez dropped over 17 seconds in his 200 Breast and earned a Districts cut in the 200 IM

-Sarah Miner swam her first 200 Breast and earned a Champs cut while doing so. She was victorious in the 1500 Free and 200 Free (Sectionals-Bonus time!)

-Leo Nguyen qualified for Champs in the 50 Breast

-Brooke Nichols earned 2 new Champs-Bonus cuts in the 50 Free and 100 Breast and a new Districts time in the 200 Free

-Emma Owen shaved almost 21 seconds in her 1500 Free

-Rainier Realina earned a Districts cut in his 100 Fly

-Raphael Realina earned a new Champs time in the 100 Back

-Kemper Roberts earned a new Champs-Bonus cut in his 100 Fly after an 11 second shave. He also earned Champs times in 50 Free, 200 IM, 400 Free (after a 13 second cut!) and 200 Free.

-Kennedy Roberts dropped over 12 seconds in her 200 Free to earn a Champs-Bonus time. She also picked up a Champs-Bonus time in her 100 Free.

-Kieran Ross swam his first 200 Breast and earned a Districts time while doing so. He also shaved over 8 seconds in his 200 Free.

-Neil Williams swam his first 200 IM and picked up a new Districts cut in the 200 Free

-Ethan Zheng swam in his first Long Course meet and picked up a new Districts cut in the 50 Free

-Jacob Zupan shaved over 13 seconds in his 200 Back
