Districts Re-cap

28 Hammerheads participated in the Missouri Valley District Championships meet July 22-24 in Topeka. There were 65 best times, 13 new Districts cuts, 9 new Champs-Bonus cuts and 5 new Champs cuts. (Please note that with the conversions with long course & short course the reports and Meet Mobile appear with major adds or drops in time that aren’t accurate. Notable swims will not reflect shaves of over 8 seconds like recaps normally do.)

Notable Swims

-Isabelle Collop picked up a new Districts time in her 100 Back and swam to 5^th place in her 100 Breast

-Elisa DeCaro swam to a new Champs-Bonus cut in the 200 Breast and 7^th place in both 200 Breast and 400 Free

-Claire Dierker swam to 2 new Champs cuts in 50 Breast (5^th) and 100 Free (2^nd), 2 new Champs-Bonus cuts in 200 IM (4^th) and 100 Fly (4^th)  and a new District time in her 100 Back. She also earned 3^rd place in her 50 Fly.

-Isaac Dierker swam to a new Champs cut and 2^nd place in the 200 Back. He also finished in the Top 8 in 3 more events: 200 Free (6^th), 100 Back (3^rd) and 400 Free (7^th)

-Asher Gellis earned a new District cut in his 50 Free

-Rowan Gellis swam to 5^th place and a new Champs-Bonus time in her 100 Breast. She also grabbed a District cut in the 50 Free.

-Justin Hendricks earned a new Districts time in his 50 Free

-Henry Johnson grabbed a Districts cut in the 100 Free

-David Keightley dropped time to earn 2^nd place in the 400 Free

-Jakeb Kobs was victorious in the 50 Free and with his victory, he earned a spot at Champs

-Piper Kobs earned 2 new District times in her 50 Breast and 100 Breast. She was victorious and earned a Champs cut in her 200 IM.

-Jacey McGraw finished in the Top 8 in all 5 of her events

-Zach Mendez won the 200 Free and with his victory, earned a spot at Champs. He also took 7^th in the 200 Back.

-Emma Owen earned a new Champs-Bonus time and 3^rd place in her 100 Fly. She also dropped time to grab 2^nd place in her 800 Free.

-Molly Purinton earned 2 new Districts cuts in the 100 Fly and 100 Free

-Neil Williams earned a new Champs time and 2^nd place in his 50 Free! He also earned 3 new Champs-Bonus cuts in the 100 Free (4^th), 200 Free (3^rd) and 100 Breast (6^th.) He was also the 3^rd place finisher in the 50 Breast.

-Camden Youngblood earned a new District cut in the 200 Back
