King Marlin Pro-Am Re-cap

Fourteen Hammerheads competed in the King Marlin Pro-Am Classic December 15th-18th, 2022 in Lewisville, TX. They competed against 45 teams from around the country and swam to 58 Best times, 2 new Sectionals Bonus cuts and 2 new Champs cuts.

 

Notable Swims

 

- Grady Burns swam to 5/6 best times and finished in the Top 50 in his 50 Back. He helped 3 of his relays finish in the Top 16.

-Elisa DeCaro picked up 2 new Champs cuts: 100 Free and 50 Free. She helped 3 of her relays earn Top 16 and 1 relay earn Top 8.

-Isaac Dierker swam to 7/7 best times and he shaved over 7 seconds in his 200 Back.

-Natalie Dunaway swam to 3/3 best times and shaved over 13 seconds in her 200 Free. She also finished in the Top 16 in her 50 Free and earned her Sectionals Bonus cut. She helped 3 of her relays earn Top 16 and 1 relay earn Top 8. She also finished in the Top 50 in her 100 Free.

-Deacon Gutshall swam to 9/9 best times in his first meet as a Hammerhead. He picked up new Senior Champs cuts in several events and a Sections Bonus cut in the 100 Back. He returned to finals in the 100 Back and 500 Free. He helped his 800 Free Relay earn 11th place.

-Makaila Hayes finished in the Top 50 in 200 Free, 200 IM and 50 Breast. She returned to finals in the 50 Free and 50 Fly. She helped 3 of her relays earn Top 16 and 1 relay earn Top 8.

-Findlay Hume swam to 3/3 best times.

-Zach Mendez finished 13th in his 1000 Free and returned to finals in his 500 Free where he earned 20th. He shaved over 8 seconds in his 200 Back. Zach finished in the Top 50 in his 100 Back and 200 Back and he helped his 800 Free Relay earn 11th place.

-Clay Pilliard shaved over 12 seconds in his 1000 Free to finish in the Top 25 and returned to finals in 50 Back and 100 Back. He helped 3 of his relays finish in the Top 16.

-Raphael Realina returned to finals in 100 Breast and 200 Breast. He helped 3 of his relays finish in the Top 16.

-Kemper Roberts was our youngest Hammerhead to swim at Pro-Ams and he swam to 2 Top 75 finishes.

-Jack Stanley returned to finals in 100 Back and finished in the Top 16 in 50 Back. He helped 3 of his relays finish in the Top 16.

-Hannah Stewart returned to finals in her 200 Breast. She also finished in the Top 50 in 100 Breast and 200 IM. She helped 3 of her relays earn Top 16 and 1 relay earn Top 8.

-Johnny Woodruff swam to 5/6 best times and 4 Top 50 finishes. He helped 3 of his relays finish in the Top 16.
