MV Age Group Champs Re-cap

Twenty-two Hammerheads competed at the MV Age Group Champs in Lenexa March 2-5, 2023. They raced 115 Best Times, 3 new Champs cuts, 5 new records and several returns to Finals.

Notable Swims

-Noah Bernard returned to Finals in the 100 Breast and shaved almost 12 seconds in his 200 Breast.

-Claire Dierker’s timed finals 1000 Free earned her a silver medal and a new team record after she dropped over 23 seconds in that event. She returned to Finals in all 6 of her other events: 100 Breast, 50 Free, 100 Free, 100 Fly, 200 Free and 50 Fly.

-Alex Foot earned a new Champs cut in his 50 Free

-Piper Kobs dropped over 13 seconds in her 1000 Free and over 14 seconds in her 400 IM. She returned to Finals in 100 Fly, 200 Back, 100 Free, 200 Fly and 100 Back.

-Julian Locke earned a new Champs Bonus time in the 200 Free.

-Harmony Lucas returned to Finals in 50 Back and 100 Back.

-Jake Maiseroulle achieved a new Champs cut in 200 IM and returned to Finals in 100 Back.

-Neala McHugh returned to Finals in her 200 IM and 100 Fly.

-Teagan Mitchell earned a bronze medal in the 500 Free after an over 16 second drop. She returned to Finals in 200 IM, 50 Free, 100 IM, and 100 Fly. Her 200 Free performance at Finals resulted in a 14 second time drop to earn a bronze medal.

-Leo Nguyen returned to Finals in 200 IM, 100 Breast and 100 Fly. He dropped over 10 seconds in his 200 Breast.

-Rainier Realina earned a new Champs cut in the 50 Back.

-Kemper Roberts dropped over 29 seconds in his 1000 Free. He returned to Finals in 200 Breast and 50 Breast.

-Kennedy Roberts returned to Finals in all 7 of her events: 100 Breast, 50 Free, 100 IM, 50 Back, 100 Back, 50 Breast, and 200 Free (over 8 second shave!)

-Isaac Stewart dropped almost 8 seconds in his 500 Free to earn a gold medal and a new team record. He returned to Finals in all 6 of his events earning 1^st Place and new team records in the 50 Free, 100 Free and 200 Free. He also won the 200 IM and earned  2^nd  Place in 100 IM and 50 Breast.

-Neil Williams dropped over 8 seconds in his 200 IM and almost 11 seconds in his 200 Free. He returned to Finals in 50 Free.
