It was a great first meet to kick off the 2023-2024 season! Thanks to all of our families who volunteered to help out at the NLU Sprint Decathlon! We had 95 swimmers earn 466 best times, 51 new District cuts, 16 new Bonus cuts, 16 new Champs cuts, 2 team records and 1 relay record. It was also great to see 20 new Hammerheads compete in their first meet with NLU.

Notable Swims

- Avery Ball completed the full decathlon and dropped 67 seconds in all – Over 26 in 100 Fly, 13 seconds in 100 Breast and 7 seconds in 100 Back!

-Noah Bernard picked up 4 new Districts cuts (50 Free, 50 Fly, 100 Free and 200 IM) and a new Bonus cut in 100 IM and swam his first 200 IM

-Levi Bettis picked up a new Districts cut in 100 Breast

-Harper Bowser dropped over 8 seconds in his 50 Breast to earn a Champs cut in that event

-Madeline Briggs dropped over 61 seconds in all over her 10 decathlon events- over 13 seconds in her 100 Breast to pick up a Districts cut, over 7 seconds in 100 IM for a Districts cut and over 16 seconds in her 200 IM. She also earned Districts cuts in 100 Back and 50 Breast.

-Logan Broek swam all 10 decathlon events! He shaved over 18 seconds in his 100 Fly to earn a Districts cut and also picked one up swimming his first 200 IM. He earned Bonus times in 50 Back, 50 Free, and 100 Back.

-It was great to see Crosby Campbell back in the water as a Hammerhead! He dropped over 9 seconds in his 100 IM and a 7 second drop in the 100 Back earned him a Districts cut.

-Raymond Canzonere shaved over 73 seconds over the 10 decathlon events. He had an over 8 second drop in 100 Breast, an almost 10 second drop in 100 IM and dropped over 44 seconds in his 200 IM!

-Preston Carlson dropped over 11 seconds to earn himself a Districts cut in the 200 IM. He also earned one in 50 Fly. He dropped over 19 seconds in the 50 Back.

-Zelik Carpenter was our big time shaver of the meet. He dropped over 8 seconds in 50 Back to earn a Districts cut. Other significant drops included 34 seconds in 100 Breast, 22 seconds in 100 IM, 7 seconds in 50 Fly, 15 seconds in 100 Back and 7 seconds in 100 Free.

-Lucy Chute shaved almost 10 seconds in her 200 IM.

-Alexandra Claerhout dropped over 13 seconds in 50 Back, a whopping 33 seconds in 100 Back and 14 seconds in 100 Free.

-Maxen Claerhout swam all 10 decathlon events and swam his first 200 IM. He dropped over 7 seconds in his 100 Free.

-Nyema Clemons swam her first 100 Fly and 100 Breast and picked up Districts cuts in both events.

-Kiefer Conrad dropped over 26 seconds in his 50 Back and almost 9 seconds in his 50 Free.

-Elisa DeCaro picked up a Senior Champs time in 200 IM.

-Noelle Diehl dropped over 10 seconds each in her 100 Fly and 50 Breast. She earned Districts cuts in 50 Back and 50 Fly.

-Claire Dierker was the 3rd place 13-14 Girls winner! She placed in the top 3 in 8 of her 10 events and picked up a Bonus cut in the 200 IM.

-Mallory Dunaway swam all 10 Decathlon events and dropped almost 9 seconds in her 100 Fly, almost 12 seconds in her 100 Back and almost 24 seconds in her 200 IM!

-Natalie Dunaway was in the record-breaking 13&Over Mixed 200 Free Relay.

-Charlotte Easley dropped over 13 seconds in her 100 Breast.

-Baily Farmer dropped over 1 minute in just 4 events!!! She swam to a new Districts cut after an over 10 second drop in 50 Fly, and she dropped over 42 seconds in her 200 IM! She also qualified for Districts in 50 Breast and 100 Free.

-Codey Farmer placed second in 50 Breast after his 11 second drop in that event. He also swam his first 100 IM and placed 2nd.

-Rowan Gellis participated in all 10 decathlon events.

-Noah Greenlee swam his first 100 Fly and dropped over 8 seconds to earn a new Districts cut in 100 IM. He also picked up a Bonus cut in 50 Free.

-Sophia Hall swam all 10 decathlon events and dropped over 7 seconds in her 100 Back.

-Jack Jeppson participated in all 5 pentathlon events.

-Henry Johnson dropped over 10 seconds in his 100 IM.

-Grace Keane swam all 10 decathlon events and swam her first 100 Fly.

-Chase Kindle picked up all 10 decathlon events and dropped almost 10 seconds in his 100 Fly to earn a Bonus cut, over 13 seconds in 200 IM to earn a Bonus cut and dropped over 8 seconds in his 100 Breast.

-Megan Kindle swam all 10 decathlon events.

-Jakeb Kobs was the 3rd place 15&Over Boys winner and swam all 10 decathlon events.

-Piper Kobs was the 2nd place 13-14 Girls winner and placed top 3 in 8 of her 10 events. She picked up a Champs cut in 200 IM and a Bonus cut in 100 Breast.

-Roman Lewis picked up the 15&Over 50 Fly record with a 24.53

-Julian Locke swam all 10 decathlon events and while doing so, dropped over 8 seconds in his 100 Free, swam his first 200 IM, and picked up new Districts times in 50 Back, 100 Back and 50 Breast.

-Harmony Lucas participated in all 10 decathlon events.

-Jake Maiseroulle had himself a meet! He was the 2nd place 11-12 Boys winner and picked up 6 new Champs cuts (100 Fly after an over 20 second drop!, 100 Breast, 50 Free, 50 Fly, 50 Breast and 100 Free.) He also dropped over 11 seconds in his 200 IM and 5 of his 10 events were in the Top 3.

-Jacey McGraw swam all 10 decathlon events.

-Kian McHugh was the 2nd place 9-10 Boys winner and dropped over 90 seconds over all 10 events. He earned 3 new Districts cuts (50 Back, 100 Back after an over 15 second drop, and 100 Free after an over 7 second drop.) He also earned 3 new Bonus cuts (100 Breast after an over 13 second drop, 50 Breast, and 200 IM after dropping over 38 seconds!)

-Neala McHugh was the 3rd place 11-12 Girls winner and picked up a new Bonus cut in the 50 Breast.

-Adalind McManus swam all 5 pentathlon events.

-Matthew McManus raced in all 10 pentathlon events.

-Zach Mendez swam to 6 Top 3 finishes. He was also in the record-breaking 13&Over Mixed 200 Free Relay.

-Molly Mills dropped almost 12 seconds in her 200 IM.

-Kierra Montoya raced in all 10 pentathlon events.

-Jeffrey Older swam his first 100 Breast and 100 IM and dropped over 8 seconds in his 50 Free.

-Rainier Realina dropped over 7 seconds in his 100 Fly and picked up a new Districts cut in his 100 Breast. He also swam all 10 decathlon events.

-Raphael Realina dropped over 18 seconds to earn a new team record of 57.19 in the 15 & Over 100 IM. He had 5 1st place finishes and a 2nd. He was also in the record-breaking 13&Over Mixed 200 Free Relay.

-Ellie Reece swam all 10 decathlon events and picked up 2 new Districts cuts (100 Fly and 100 Free) and dropped over 10 seconds in her 100 Breast and over 18 seconds in her 200 IM.

-Kennedy Roberts picked up a Bonus cut in the 100 Free.

-Philip Shekleton dropped over 83 seconds across all 10 decathlon events. He dropped almost 37 seconds in the 100 Fly, over 15 in the 50 Back, over 13 in the 200 IM and almost 10 in the 100 Breast for a new Districts cut. He also earned a Districts cut in the 50 Breast and he swam his first 100 Back.

-Nicholas Shumate swam all 10 decathlon events.

-Anderson Sibley dropped over 82 seconds across all 10 decathlon events. He shaved over 7 seconds in 100 Breast, over 7 in the 100 IM, almost 13 in the 50 Fly, over 9 in the 50 Breast and over 30 in the 200 IM. He also swam his first 100 Fly.

-Hannah Stewart was the 2nd place 15 & Over Girls Winner. She had 3 top 3 finishes and a victory in the 100 Free. She was also in the record-breaking 13& Over Mixed 200 Free Relay.

-Isaac Stewart swam all 10 decathlon events, dropping almost 7 seconds in the 100 Fly, winning the 50 Free, picking up a Champs cut in the 100 Breast and a Bonus cut in the 100 Back.

-Mia Sulzen dropped over 13 seconds in her 100 Back.

-Mizzou Thai dropped over 31 seconds in his 100 IM.

-Makenna Toyne swam all 10 decathlon events and swam her first 100 Fly (Districts cut!) and 200 IM. She also picked up Districts cuts in 100 Breast (after an almost 11 second drop) , 50 Fly and 50 Breast.

-Elaina Wells picked up 2 new Districts cuts while swimming her decathlon: 100 Fly and 50 Free.

-Neil Williams swam the full decathlon and dropped almost 15 seconds to earn a Districts cut in 100 Fly. He also picked up Districts cuts in 50 Back and 50 Fly.

-Clara Wilson swam all 10 decathlon events and picked up 4 new Districts cuts: 100 Fly, 100 Breast, 50 Free and 100 Back.

-Griffin Wilson was our team high-point winner and the 1st place 8 & Under Boys winner for the pentathlon (but he also finished the decathlon.) He had 6 1st place finishes, swam his first ever 50 Fly and 100 Free and dropped over 8 seconds in his 100 IM.

-Noah Wright swam all 5 events in the pentathlon.

-Camden Youngblood picked up a new Senior Champs cut in the 50 Free.

-Parker Zieger raced in all 5 pentathlon events.
